Solidarity grocery & food parcels
1,240 food parcels handed out in 2025A weekly grocery where people pay 10% of the shelf price, and emergency parcels for the weeks when even that is too much.

Hunger in our city is rarely spectacular. It looks like a parent skipping dinner so the children do not, or a pensioner living on bread by the 20th of the month.
The need
One household in seven around us regularly cuts meals for lack of money. Food banks help, but queuing for a handout costs people something no one budgets for: dignity.
What we do
- A solidarity grocery open every Wednesday and Saturday, where beneficiaries shop like anywhere else and pay 10% of the shelf price
- Emergency food parcels within 24 hours, no paperwork required for the first one
- Fresh produce bought from three local farms, not only long-life surplus
- A coffee corner staffed by volunteers, half the visits end with a conversation that matters more than the bag
The impact
1,240 food parcels handed out in 2025 and 96 households shopping weekly at the grocery. Two thirds of the families we meet leave the programme within a year, which is the point.
Giving, three ways
Give for this year, or for the next seventy
A donation feeds the year's work; a monthly pledge lets us plan; a bequest builds the endowment that keeps the house standing when everyone here is gone. All three are tax-deductible at 66% (75% up to €1,000 a year when the gift funds food, care or shelter for people in difficulty), and all three are audited.
- The annual gift
- Funds the groceries, the tutoring, the outreach of the current year.
- The monthly pledge
- Predictable income, the difference between reacting and planning.
- Bequests & corporate patronage
- Received by appointment, with your notary or your board. Discretion is the house style.
